Chlorophyll is like food for your blood

April 26th, 2011 · No Comments

You often hear how important it is to eat your greens but I don’t think I ever realized what that really means!

I just found out that I am very low in iron and for some reason that has lead me to be reading and discovering all about greens.

I love to treat my body in a more wholesome way, the way I believe nature intended it to be.

And in the process of doing some research, I have found some fascinating information.

Leafy greens have the most concentrated source of nutrition of any food.

I just watched a video where Victoria Boutenko  shares  her valuable knowledge and discovery on greens and why they are so good for you. And I love to learn from people who have noticed first hand the benefits of these greens. She mentions that she had been on a raw food diet for many years and started to not feel so well. After some extensive research, she started to drink her greens and here are some of the benefits she noticed: her warts went away, the red dots on her skin disappeared, her vision became much clearer, her gray hair went away, she had no more falling hair in the shower, she had improved her mood and felt more peace…

She speaks of greens as follow and here is what she says in short:

Greens are the only living foods that can transform sunshine energy into energy that humans can consume. When the sunshine hits the surface of green leafs, photosynthesis occurs and we have chlorophyll. The Chlorophyll apparently resembles human blood. Basically chlorophyll is like liquefied sunshine and that is why it is so good for us. There is nothing in the world more nutritious then green leaves. As the body gets nourished from the nutrients in greens, people begin to crave them more and more. Greens can even make you loose your craving for certain foods that you might be addicted to.

She says that according to Ann Wigmore, drinking a green smoothie is like having a blood transfusion. Greens cleans the blood and helps improve immunity.

As I read more and more about greens, I came to discover that they seem to offer a multitude of benefits.

I have even read from different source that because chlorophyll resembles your blood, people have had great results at raising their iron levels from consuming chlorophyll on a daily basis.

Here is a testimonial  I came across on Raw Food Talk written by Eva Rawposa that I found to be enlightening:

“Do you do green smoothies with hard-core greens like dandelion greens, nettles, kale or similar?! Drink at least 1 liter daily to (I hope!) see an improvement quickly. I went from anemic to not even close to it. Now I can give blood without even thinking about it because my iron levels are so healthy!”

And here is an insightful comment I found on Calorie count as I was surfing online where this lady (her name is Beth) speaks about the benefits of consuming chlorophyll for treating anemia:

“My all time favorite treatment for anemia is liquid chlorophyll. And no it doesn’t actually contain much iron. Actually no one know how it works but it does work. I tell women who are anemic to take 1/4 cup a day. In most cases I see the hgb raise rapidly using chlorophyll alone. It can be mixed with water or juice and I do recommend getting mint flavored. The capsules are not as effective as the liquid.” 1.

How inspiring!

So many good reasons to start eating, juicing and smoothing more greens :)
